As a 3D Environment Artist, I had the pleasure of creating this Hero Asset for our final bachelor’s project, 7 Heures—a 3D cinematic inspired by Québécois folklore.
This was another asset I truly enjoyed working on. It also plays an important role in the storytelling of our project.
The modeling was done in Blender, while the branches were sculpted in ZBrush. I wanted to challenge myself by experimenting with and refining my sculpting techniques in ZBrush to give the branches a more organic look. I also took the liberty of unwrapping the branches using a decimated mesh, since we were using Nanite in Unreal Engine 5 for our cinematic.
My goal was to stay as close as possible to the concept art created by Morgane Peugnet, our team’s concept artist.
